The 14th Annual Frontline Salary Guide has been released and is dedicated to the salary information taken from our annual salary of retail salaries across Australia. The information collected within this survey is based on data collected from both clients and candidates, through roles advertised by clients, and candidates placed by Frontline Retail.
The salary figures are based on actual base salaries for candidates who have been placed during this time, and candidates salaries in their position prior to being interviewed by Frontline Retail.
Features of the 2011 Guide
The retail industry in 2011 seems to be defined by two major characteristics; a lacking number of quality candidates, and client’s increasing salaries attract and accommodate for this shortage. This tightened candidate market is being felt across Australia, with clients being urged to move quickly to employ the most suitable candidates.
Quality candidates need to see themselves tempted with attractive salary packages as clients desperately attempt to employ and retain candidates. A strong relationship between recruitment consultants, candidates and clients continues to be a vital practice, ensuring the quick placement of quality candidates, and client satisfaction.
About the guide
In 1997, Frontline Retail surveyed salaries paid by small speciality retailers in Sydney only and slowly expanded the survey over the years to include specialty retailers, department stores and turnover categories. This year the survey was conducted in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin, North Queensland, Regional Victoria, Northern NSW and Wollongong. Please contact your Frontline Retail consultant for more information.
Understanding the guide
To provide usable date for each position we have indicated the ‘average’ salary or a salary ‘range’ for each level surveyed. The ‘range’ indicates the typical survey bracket, which is being paid in the marketplace for each position and level within that position.
